Does a separation agreement in Israel need to be registered with a court?

To be fully enforceable, a separation agreement covering property matters must be approved by the Family Court or, for Jewish couples, the Rabbinical Court. Under Section 2 of the Spouses Property Relations Law 1973, property agreements between married spouses require court or notarial approval. Without this approval, the agreement binds the parties as a contract but cannot be enforced through the Execution Office if one party refuses to comply.
