Family Law

Can a separation agreement in Israel be modified after it is approved?

Yes, but only for certain provisions. Child-related arrangements — custody, visitation, and child support — can always be revisited by the Family Court if there is a material change in circumstances, because courts are not permanently bound by prior agreements on matters affecting the child's best interests. Property and financial terms, once approved, are much harder to change and generally require mutual consent plus a further court order.
