Yes, once you hold A/5 temporary residency and have lived in Israel continuously for six months, you become eligible to register with one of Israel's four health funds (kupot holim) under the National Health Insurance Law. You will pay monthly contributions to the National Insurance Institute, but in return you receive the full basket of healthcare services available to Israeli residents. Until you reach that threshold, you must carry private international health insurance.
