A hiskamet yerusha is a binding inheritance agreement between two people who can inherit from each other — most commonly spouses or partners — governed by Section 8 of the Inheritance Law 5725-1965. Unlike a will, which is a unilateral document that can be revoked at any time, a hiskamet yerusha is a contract: once made, it cannot be cancelled or modified without the consent of both parties.

It allows couples to plan their estates together and give each other binding assurances about how assets will be distributed after death.
