What is the difference between guardianship and an enduring power of attorney in Israel?

An enduring power of attorney is granted voluntarily by a person while they still have capacity, to take effect if they later lose capacity. Guardianship, by contrast, is a court-imposed arrangement used when a person has already lost capacity and made no advance plan, or for minors. An enduring POA is generally preferable because it respects the individual's own choices.
