Is common law marriage legally recognized in Israel?

Yes. Israeli courts and legislation recognize unmarried couples who live together publicly and hold themselves out as a couple — known as yedua betzibur — and grant them many of the same rights as married spouses. This includes property division rights, inheritance rights under the Inheritance Law 1965, and access to various government and social benefits.
