How can I tell if an Israeli property is freehold or leasehold?

Request a Nesach Tabu (land registry extract). If it shows 'ba'alut' (ownership) it is freehold. If it shows 'zkhut shkhirut' or lists the Israel Land Authority as owner, it is leasehold.
