Debt Collection
Does Israel enforce foreign court judgments against individuals?
Yes, under the Foreign Judgments Enforcement Law 1958. If you already have a final judgment from a foreign court against an Israeli individual, you can apply to an Israeli District Court to have it declared enforceable. The Israeli court will check that the judgment is final, that the foreign court had jurisdiction, and that enforcement does not contradict Israeli public policy. Once declared enforceable, you can proceed through the Execution Office as you would with any Israeli judgment.
