Can co-owners agree not to sell for many years?

Co-owners can agree to postpone dissolution of co-ownership, but Israeli courts will not enforce such an agreement for a period longer than five years. After five years, the agreement can be renewed. Even within the agreed period, a court can override the postponement if it is causing serious hardship to a co-owner who wants out — for example, if the property has become an urgent financial burden or circumstances have fundamentally changed.
