Debt Collection

Can an Israeli debtor hide assets to avoid paying me?

Israeli law includes mechanisms to counter asset concealment. Once you have filed a claim or obtained a judgment, your attorney can apply for a pre-judgment or post-judgment asset freeze to prevent the debtor from transferring assets. If a debtor is suspected of concealing assets, the Execution Office can summon them for a sworn financial disclosure hearing. Fraudulent transfer of assets to avoid creditors can expose the debtor to additional civil and criminal liability under Israeli law.
