Which Israeli employment sectors are covered by extension orders setting wages above minimum?

Government extension orders (tzavei harchava) under the Collective Agreements Law 5717-1957 cover a wide range of sectors in Israel, setting wages and conditions that exceed the statutory minimum. Major sectors with active extension orders include: construction and infrastructure (setting a sectoral minimum well above national minimum wage); cleaning and security services; hotels and hospitality; retail and wholesale trade; printing and publishing; transport and logistics; and the metal and electrical industries.

There is also a general extension order covering all workers that mandates convalescence pay (dmei havraah), recreation funds, and certain pension contributions — this applies across all sectors regardless of whether a sector-specific order exists. Workers in covered sectors are entitled to the higher rates in the applicable order even without union membership.
