What should I do if my Israeli insurance claim is denied?
First, request a written explanation citing the specific policy clause and factual basis for denial — the insurer must provide this within 30 days under Section 27A of the Insurance Contract Law 5741-1981. If you believe the denial is wrong, you can file a consumer complaint with CMISA online, use the policy's arbitration clause if one exists, or sue in the Magistrates Court (up to NIS 2.5 million) or District Court. The limitation period for insurance claims is 3 years from the date of the insured event under Section 31 of the Insurance Contract Law.
