Labor Law
What notice period is required when terminating a foreign worker in Israel?
Under the Notice to Employee Law 2001, the required notice for monthly-salary employees is: one day per month of service in the first 6 months; 6 days plus one day per additional month from month 7 to 12; and one full month after the first year. These are statutory minimums — the contract may provide more. The employer may pay salary in lieu of notice rather than requiring the employee to work through it. For more detail, see Employment Contracts in Israel for Foreign Workers and Expats.
