What is the deadline to file a capital gains return in Israel after selling private company shares?
For a sale of unlisted (private) securities, the seller must file a capital gains tax return with the Israel Tax Authority within 30 days of the transaction date. The acquirer must also withhold tax from the purchase price and remit it to the ITA within 30 days. Missing this deadline can result in penalties and interest, so filing promptly — ideally with an Israeli tax adviser — is important.
