How many hours can I be required to work in Israel per week?

The Hours of Work and Rest Law 5711-1951 sets the maximum at 42 hours per week in a five-day working week — 8.6 hours per day. In a six-day week the limit is 45 hours. No employee may work more than 12 hours in any single day, regardless of agreement. Any hours beyond those thresholds are overtime and must be paid at the overtime premium.
