Arbitration

How long does an arbitrator challenge typically take in Israel?

A challenge to the tribunal itself is typically resolved within a few weeks, since the tribunal has a strong interest in moving the proceedings forward. If the matter escalates to a court application, Israeli District Courts can take several months to hear and decide. The arbitration itself is not automatically suspended during this period, so substantive hearings commonly continue in parallel. Speed in raising the challenge is therefore essential.
