Am I entitled to unemployment benefits from Bituach Leumi after being dismissed in Israel?

If you were dismissed (not resigned) and worked at least 12 months out of the 18 months before your dismissal, you are generally eligible for unemployment benefits from the National Insurance Institute (Bituach Leumi). Benefits are paid after a 30-day waiting period and continue for up to 138 days (175 days for workers aged 45 or older). The daily benefit is approximately 50% of your average daily wage, subject to a ceiling of roughly NIS 1,180 per day (2026 figure). You must register with the Employment Service (Lishkat HaTasugah) within 30 days of dismissal.
